Rosacea
What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition, which resembles adult acne. It most commonly
occurs in lighter skinned people after the age of 30. Rosacea is characterized
by redness and swelling of the face. Pustules and facial spider veins are
also prominent in appearance. The disease can improve or worsen over the years
but most of the time it never will resolve on its own.
How is Rosacea Treated?
Prescription antibiotics pills and creams are the mainstays of treatment but
often produce
Inadequate results. IPL and Laser Photo rejuvenation have an excellent track
record in treating Rosacea. The redness associated with Rosacea can be dramatically
reduced by these procedures. Chemical peels and Microdermabrasion should only
be used to treat Rosacea after laser or light based therapies have reduced
the degree of redness. Cosmeceuticals and a good skin care regimen should
complement your laser and light based Rosacea therapies.
